Eric Emmons, Associate Pastor and NextGen Minister
Kenzie and I grew up in Grand Haven Michigan which is right on Lake Michigan. I was homeschooled and so I spent my childhood fishing and hunting all across Michigan. After a night at Awana I was convicted by the Gospel and Jesus graciously saved me. I still had alot of growing to do but it was in High School that I realized what being a Christian really meant. I decided that I needed to take my faith seriously!
I went to community college and met Kenzie there at a Christian fellowship club hosted by the school. We fell in love quickly and I realized that she was the girl I wanted to marry! We both went to Taylor University where I studied philosophy and she studied psychology. It was at Taylor that I was convicted that I needed to pursue further theological education. In June of 2020 after graduation, Kenzie and I got married and within a month we moved to Wake Forest so that I could attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary! After a year in the Wake Forest Area, Pastor Christian and I connected and he invited me to come visit Bethany. Kenzie and I fell in love with the people, the culture, and the community here at Bethany Baptist! We knew this is where God wanted us and we have been here ever since!
What do I like to do?
By nature I am a very curious person, so I love learning about new things and because of this I love reading. Beyond my love for reading and learning I also love watching football (Go Lions!) and hockey (Go Red Wings!), hunting, fishing, watching a good movie, and having a good conversation! I also have a passion for discipleship and education! I want to see young Christians grow in both their knowledge of the faith and their love for God and others! Ultimately, I want to see lives transformed by the Gospel!
