Serve Our City- 2026
During Missions Month here at Bethany, we not only like to serve the Global city but our Local city as well! One way we do this is through Serve Our City Week: A week filled with different outreach events for each day of the week at various times. They range from hosting a Drive-Thru Prayer Tent to handing out dog treats at a local dog park, just to show our neighbors that we care!

Serving With Purpose
Serve Our City is one of our favorite weeks of the year because it gives us the opportunity to love our neighbors in practical ways. Whether it’s praying with someone in a parking lot, blessing local businesses with doughnuts or care packages, or serving families in our community, every project is about showing the love of Jesus right here in our city!
Last year we:
- Passed out 60 dog treat bags to families at Knightdale Station Park
- Visited 8 emergency rooms and delivered care packages to nurses and doctors
- Had 30 cars stop by our Prayer Tents — and celebrated 1 person accepting Jesus
- Delivered 24 boxes of doughnuts to local businesses throughout our community
- Served 110+ FREE hot dog lunches
- Gave away 20+ cups of FREE coffee
- Mowed and cleaned up 5 neighbors’ yards
- Handed out 150 FREE popsicles to families in the park
- …and so much more!
Family Movie Night
Invite your friends, family, and neighbors to Bethany Baptist to watch a family movie on the lawn on Friday, June 12 at 8pm! By popular demand, we will be watching: The Lego Movie. This is a completely FREE event and includes popcorn as well!
AMP Camp for Kids
For the first time at Bethany Baptist Church, we are excited to host AMP Camp — a FREE one-day music camp for kids in our community on June 13th from 10am-2pm!

Pets in the Park (Sunday)
Date: Sunday, June 7
Time: 11:30am-2pm
Location: Knightdale Station Park

Ages: Any
Project Details: Join us as we give out doggie treat goodie bags here at Knightdale Station Park! We love our neighbors... and their furry friends!
Donations: We need: Doggie Treats for this project! If you are able, please donate by buying some healthy dog treats and dropping them off at the Connection Desk on Sundays!

Drive-Thru Prayer (Monday PM)
Date: Monday, June 8
Time: 6-8pm
Location: Dollar Tree Parking Lot: 540 W Gannon Ave, Zebulon
Team Lead: Lisa Anderson
Team Size: 6 people
Ages: 14 and up (ages 14-16 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian)
Project Details: During this event, we will talk and pray over whoever stops for prayer and bring those requests back to the church for them to pray over as well!

Hello Neighbors! (Monday PM)
Date: Monday, June 8
Time: 6pm
Location: New neighborhoods in the area, meet at Bethany!
Team Lead: Candice Denton & Carter Letchworth
Team Size: 15 people
Ages: 13+
Project Details: We will split up into groups and walk through local neighborhoods delivering plants/goodies and praying for our neighbors!

Lunch On The Go! (Tuesday AM)

Project Details: We will be handing out free hot dogs and chips to anyone that wants them! We will also be having conversations, inviting them to church, and offering prayer! Please dress casually and wear a Bethany t-shirt!

Frisbee in the Park (Tuesday PM)
Date: Tuesday, June 9
Time: 6:30-8pm
Location: Knightdale Station Park.

Team Size: 7 people
Ages: 12 and up
Project Details: We will be setting up an ultimate frisbee game in the park and invite anybody there to play with us! The starting players are made up of church members and anybody they invite to join.

LiftED Care Packages (Wednesday AM)

Project Details: There are a large number of students at East Wake who are unhoused or facing extreme financial hardship and rely on the school for basic life and hygeine items. We are collecting items and putting them in care packages for their school counselors to keep on hand for students in need!

Project Details: Help us love our neighbors and support our local high school by working on some school beautification projects at East Wake Highschool! We will need power washers, tree pruners, weed eaters, edgers, etc. If you have any lawn equipment that would help with these projects, we would appreciate you bringing it with you!
